In the creation of a theatre production the person who decides what the performers will wear, what kind of environment they will inhabit, and on the objects or props with which they engage, is usually called a theatre designer. This online exhibit uses productions in the National Theatre Archive to analyse the role that the theatre designer plays in the creation of performance.
